Speed is really everything to a site, It's just as important as promoting your site or designing it. Research shows that the number one complaint is slow web pages. Studies have shown that visitors will start to leave a site after waiting for more than 10 seconds for a page to load. Jupiter Media Metrix says (Sep 2001) that 40% of surfers in the USA visit web sites more often if the pages load faster.

The load time of a Web site depends on each visitor's connection speed. Remember that not all surfers have a cable modem or ISDN connection to the internet. In fact most still use 56K modems and over 10% still use 28K or lower speed modems.
